The origin of the word Daisy is Anglo Saxon "daes eage" or "day's eye" because Daisies open at dawn to begin the day.

Despite their appearance, daisies are not one flower. They have two types of flowers--petal-like white ray florets and disc florets.

The most popular Daisy varieties are Shasta and African.
